“As you mentioned my upgrade came after running a Kedel boiler system for about 10yrs, while grateful for the savings when I originally transitioned from oil heat to a Kedel system that system always needed work. In terms of regular maintenance it had to have the chamber scraped every two weeks and ash dumped and then every four weeks I also had to clean the baffles at the same time but that was known going in. What was not known is how unreliable it was, thankfully I was able to learn how to do everything on it (very simple) but I never felt comfortable leaving the system alone over the winter because there was a 50/50 chance there would be an issue. The last issue I always had is how unresponsive the system was, it always took forever to heat the house which made it a challenge to run on a schedule to save money. Over the years the regular (very dirty) maintenance, reoccurring issues, and inefficiently was getting old and I started to look for a replacement.

At the start I reluctantly looked at the MESys to see if staying with pellet heat was worth exploring – after talking to my local installer plus people that ran the system I nervously decided to stay with pellet heat and give the MESys system a shot … after two winters I am thrilled I did!  All my previous issues were gone, the system is easy to run and reliable plus the regular maintenance is dumping a very small self-contained ash container just once a winter.

So far in the new system is what I had hoped for 12 years ago when I originally switched which was a more sustainable way to heat my home without loosing the reliability and efficiency seen in more traditional heating systems at the same price point.

I’d highly recommend the switch from traditional heating systems (or less quality pellet options like Kedel systems), the MESys is outstanding.”
